Prophet reporter attacked offices ransacked

Mere hours after the story about the missing Gryffindor boy's return hit newsstands, the Daily Prophet offices were ransacked by a few masked men seeking the boy's whereabouts. When one of the reporters working on the story refused to reveal his sources or any information on the boy, he was swiftly struck with a sectumsempra curse and left for dead. The custodian found him lying in a pool of blood. After a short stint in St. Mungos, our reporter is now home and taking a short holiday.

In a releated story,Gryffindor girl, Tamara Scorbal, has returned to Hogwarts after a short-lived, yet traumatic ordeal over her exchange for Hogwarts head girl, Anquvin Aluveaux. Our sources tell us the scene in Godric's Hollow was tense but that Miss Aluveaux handled herself in a manner that makes one think of The great Harry Potter in facing evil.
The culprit was taken into custody by the Head of the DLME Bella Giustizia.

Muggles unsafe in wizarding communities By Lerna Lemonut

Godricks Hallow-In recent months there have been an increase in the amount of muggle attacks in wizarding communities. In the last three months twelve muggles have been attacked leading to the death of three. Witnesses state a lone witch or wizard in robes is responsible for the attacks on the innocent muggles.
“It is clearly an attack based on the hate of muggles.” Stated a source in the ministry who requested to remain unnamed. “The ministry is aware of the situation and has taken steps to protect unsuspecting muggles.”
Details are sketchy about the attacks but reports have stated unforgivable curses were used to torture the victims.
The ministry claims they have no suspects and are seeking assistance from anyone who may have knowledge the attacks.

Elmira Babbage, reported missing in mid-January, has at last resurfaced, much to the relief of family and friends. Originally traveling to Romania to visit her owl pal, Petra, Elmira tells us she happened to stumble across the Romanian Liberation Cooperative in the middle of a rescue operation, and was so impressed with the work they were doing that she decided to join them in their mission. She returned to the UK last Thursday and has established a group for those witches and wizard who also wish to lend their support to the RLC's noble cause. Interested parties may contact Elmira by owl.

In other news, Romanian Ministry officials walked out of talks with the RLC after the RLC claimed their Ministry of Magic attacked one of the towns they have been trying to protect.

We asked Elmira her opinion of the Romanian Ministry's recent walkout. "I was hopeful at the announcement that talks were forthcoming. I'm appalled that the Romanian Ministry would try to attack an RLC area right before the meeting. I wouldn't be surprised if they had an extremist or two within their ranks that did this. The time has come for the international magical community to stand up and be counted. That's why I started the group I have. We need to speak out so that the Romanian Ministry or the ICW will pay attention."

OBITUARY Gwen Weezles

Muggle wife of the renowned retired potions master and magical arachnologist mentioned in Great Wizards of the 20th Century, Aaraneus Weezles', died suddenly and unexpectedly late last Tuesday evening. Gwen was 89. Her son - auror, Alan Weezles, Order of Merlin First Class - preceded Gwen in death. Survivors include devoted husband, Aaraneus - daughter-in-law, Anna - and grandson, Aaran. Torquay Funeral Services conducted a private muggle service for the Weezles family Saturday afternoon in Devon.

Though Gwen was a muggle, she was part of a very noble and well-respected wizard family. Her husband, Aaraneus, is most famous for his discovery that marinating toad liver with purified Black Widow's venom aided in the healing of spattergoit. He authored several texts on the proper care and handling of spiders for magical purposes before his premature retirement. Her son, Alan, fought bravely against five Death Eaters in the final moments of his life, enduring hours of being cruciated and imperiused before finally succumbing to the Killing Curse after they realized he would never provide the information they sought. Ministry officials unanimously decided to award him the Order of Merlin First class posthumously after reviewing the memories retrieved from the only witness, his son, Aaran. Gwen's daughter-in-law, Anna, was a respected investigative journalist for the Daily Prophet who retired after her husband's death, but has since returned to us.

We asked Aaraneus why he left the wizarding world, his answer: "For love." He refused to comment upon his future plans or whether he planned to return to the wizarding world now that his muggle wife was no longer with us. Daughter-in-law, Anna Weezles, has taken a short leave of absence from the Prophet in this time of loss.

Romanian Liberation Cooperative

The Romanian Liberation Association has changed its name to the Liberation of Romania Cooperative, since the numerous negative Ministry references to their coalition had people thinking the A in RLA stood for Army. The LRC has asked that we make clear the point that they are the ones pushing for talks, not the Romanian Ministry.
In the past week, three groups have openly supported the LRC: the Society for the Support of Squibs, the Society for the Reformation of Hags, and the Society for the Tolerance of Vampires. Each have written in to the Prophet to express their appreciation for all the LRC is and has been doing for the welfare of their respective kinds.
In other news, the tiny country of Liechtenstein joins Moldova, Slovenia, Mont Negro, and The Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia in withdrawing from the ICW until the Romanian Ministry is held accountable for its actions.

Rebuttal to letter to editor

Despite what the anonymous respondent has argued in their letter, I have significant proof that his or her accusations are patently false. Raising an army of werewolves and vampires? I am certain there are many of you in the wizarding world who have had relatives fall prey to lycanthropy or vampirism. Would you wish to see them tortured or killed for being the victims they are? I have personally interviewed a muggle boy of fifteen - one of Greyback's last victims - who, thanks to the RLA, managed to escape death at the hands the Ministry. His story is tragic. Being a muggle, he did not have the ability to use magic to aid in his own escape. The RLA were in the process of escorting him to safety via the floo network, when members of the Romanian Ministry caught them and locked them in two separate covert holding cells. In these secret cells, such unfortunates are tortured at length before being executed. Another member of the RLA who was aware of the attempt to rescue the boy, managed to slip in through another fireplace in the network and rescue both. After this incident, the Ministry quickly shut the floo network down.
Additionally, although I cannot reveal my sources, I have seen wizarding photographs of emaciated dragons with broken wings caged just behind the Romanian Ministry headquarters. My sources have also revealed to me that talks are underway between the Ministry and the ICW, and RLA to bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict without anyone being harmed.

Dear Editor,
This letter is written in response to the propaganda piece the Daily Prophet ran concerning the Romanian Liberation Army. There is little truth to be found anywhere within this article so please allow me to shed some light into the darkness that is the RLA. To understand the history of the RLA, one must look more closely at England’s recent past and the fall of the Dark Lord. Did you ever wonder where the followers of Voldermort fled to after his defeat and how they evaded the manhunt launched by the Ministry? The answer lies within the hidden villages and keeps nestled within the mountains of Transylvania. There may have been a nobility or honor in the desire for Transylvanian independence at one time. However, that honor was lost when none other than the Knights of Walpurgis took control of the organization several years ago. The notorious Deatheater known as Henry Aluveaux is a prominent member of the RLA and many of the lower level Deatheaters from both Wizarding wars that escaped justice now serve at his side.
I have been to the Palace of Culture, their recruiting offices are seeking recruits of any age, and are taking them by force as needed. I’ve personally witnessed kids as young as 11 being forced to serve their cause, taught Dark Magic then placed into combat. I should know, I lived that life. I was taken from my school and made to serve against my will through the use of Dark Curses and then in turn, I used that magic to help their cause. The RLA cares not for independence, but control. The danger is real and spreading, not just 8 months ago did the RLA unleash a squadron of trained combat dragons against targets both civilian and Ministry related. One or more of those dragons were sent to England for purposes unknown, but as your paper has reported, combat operations have begun here in England. Furthermore, the RLA has been raising an army of Werewolves and Vampires that could sweep across the land like a plague if we fail to intervene in time.
Make no mistake, I believe the Third Wizarding War is just weeks, perhaps days away from beginning. I believe the Dark Lord’s return is at hand, I can feel the presence like a growing shadow across the land. I urge the ICW to draft an emergency army to invade Transylvania and restore order before the second phase of the RLA’s operations begin. I expect without direct action by the ICW, Romania as a nation will fall by early Spring. The Romanian muggle army appears to be under the influence of the RLA, a violation of many ICW laws. The taking of children from their homes and schools, against their will and taught the Unforgivable spells is also a terrible violation of not only ICW rules but is against the Muggle Geneva Convention.
Now is the time for bold action, by driving back the darkness. Now is the time to embrace our destiny and march forth for honor and glory. Now is the time we preserve our freedom by standing against tyranny and fear. Now is the time we must change the world!

I once again bid you greetings, my former faithful readers. For the last eleven years, I shamefully admit I have lived a muggle's life in stealth. I lost my husband, Alan, in a skirmish with Death Eaters the year before the final battle with Voldemort. Alan was brutally murdered by those on a mission to slaughter the innocent in order to preserve an ideal founded upon nothing more than prejudice and hate. I cannot - will not - let his death have been in vain. Today, I emerge from hiding and return to the wizarding world and the Daily Prophet to honour my husband's memory by speaking out against a grave injustice. Tyranny is occurring right under our very noses, and it seems many do not have the wisdom to recognize it.
It has been a closely guarded secret that the Romanian Ministry of Magic is on a mission to create the perfect race. They initially began by attempting to purge the country of vampires and werewolves under the guise of safety for the wizarding world at large. A small grass roots movement formed to defend these unfortunates' lives. Their numbers were small, but their aim, noble and just. However, the Ministry did not stop there. It then took to killing trolls. As people witnessed the Ministry's growing disdain for diversity, the grass roots movement grew and has become what is known today as the Romanian Liberation Association.
Now the Ministry seeks to rid the world of muggles, and it is painfully clear it will keep on in this fashion moving from one race or species to the next to eliminate any other beings it deems "undesireable". Is this not reminiscent of that wretched Voldemort's quest? The Romanian Liberation Association has been working hard to defeat the tyranny and the injustice. The Ministry would not have you believe this, however. They would have you believe the RLA is a growing band of insurgents who are manipulating and/or holding muggles hostage. They are not. The RLA is trying to protect muggles from the same genocide the Ministry tried to inflict upon vampires, werewolves, and trolls. Muggles have as much right to life and liberty as we have. If we allow the Ministry to continue in this manner unchecked, when they've finished their ghastly task, who will they deem unworthy next? Half-bloods? And then whom? No, readers, we must fight now with every fibre of our beings to prevent it. The RLA has set up two muggle refugee camps in Isia at the Palace of Culture and Roznoveanu Palace/City Hall. Therefore, I implore any witch and wizard reading this edition of the Prophet to encourage any muggles you may know to seek refuge in RLA controlled areas for their own safety and well being.

Where is Elmira? witch is still missing after four months

Elmira Babbage, a witch known for her Friday disappearances and unannounced extended holidays, has been missing since September. Family are concerned, as she has never taken leave for so long a period before. "Two months is normal for her, but four? Never. Even her owl pal, Petra, from Romania hasn't heard from her, and Elmira never failed to write to her no matter where she went. I'm a bit concerned she may have gone to see her, and failed to arrive," said brother, Bartholomew.
Ms. Babbage is forty-eight years old, 5'2", has auburn hair, teal eyes, and a porcelain complexion. Anyone who may have seen her is requested to owl the family with the date, time, and location last seen.

Urgent meeting of ICW

The ICW held a special meeting this week to discuss the problems in Romania. Many of the members of the council called for the ICW to remove Romanian Minster of Magic Comanescu.
Some went so far as to call him the worst minster ever since Cornelius Fudge. A heated argument broke out, the chief mugwump said the ICW would not interfere with Romanians wizards right to pick who they want as Minister.
The debate ended with the Minsters of Magic of Moldova, Slovenia, Mont Negro, and The Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia all leaving the ICW and no longer were members. They further stated they would no longer be subject to any ICW rules, since the ICW refused to step in and take action against such a horrible minister. What does this mean for the ICW, will they be able to get these minsters to come back? What about the RLA what will this do for them? What does this mean for the wizarding world at large? This reporter fears that things may only be getting worse before they get better.

The RLA is back with new attacks

After over 6mo of no hostilities between the RLA and and Romania ministry the two groups are at it again. It has also been discovered that the Ministry of Magic in the Republic of Moldova have actually been secretly helping the RLA. Towns along the border have now come under complete control of the RLA, muggles are fleeing in droves and the largest town ISAI is the new base of operations for the RLA, the five muggle universities were attacked and the students there forced to flee. It has been reported that the Palace of Culture in the center of town is the main base but reports are unconfirmed at this time. Also the Romania ministry of magic has reported that the floo network in the country has been sabotaged and that it can no longer be safely used. Any wizards and witches who wish to help with the refugees are asked to apperate or port or fly into the area but to be careful. Ministry officals here said they are also helping with the relocation of displaced wizarding families from the area.

Dragon attack Stornoway

Cries and screams filled the Western Isle air as a dragon swooped down setting piers and boats ablaze in Stornoway Harbour, shattering windows in the Maritime Rescue Sub Centre, and scorching the lighthouse at Arnish Point before heading towards the Stornoway campus of the University of Stirling, where St. Mungos healers attend muggle nursing courses under cover as a part of their continuing education programme.
The Ministry of Magic has confirmed that a Peruvian Vipertooth attacked the Isle of Lewis town, at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday evening. The loud screeching and roaring of the fire-breathing creature drew residents out of their homes in curiosity. The efficient reporting of the incident by local wizards meant that Ministry officials were able to arrive in time to contain the damage and protect the residents; however, the dragon escaped before the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures could arrive.
More than a dozen Obliviators were despatched to Stornoway to alter the memories of muggle residents. The Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee instructed the Obliviators to implant the memory that a band of delinquent teenagers set off the fireworks intended to be used at the conclusion of the Hebridean Celtic Festival this upcoming July. Articles in the local muggle publications "The Stornoway Gazette" and the "Hebridean" reported a brilliant display of Category 4 pyrotechnics concluding with a never-before seen dragon effect were tragically wasted as a result errant teens. It having been a great many years since the Department of Obliviators has been required to alter so many muggles' memories over a single incident, Ministry officials are most pleased with the department's obviously brilliant success.
Reasons for the unprovoked dragon attack are unknown at this time. The Ministry has assured the Prophet that a full-scale investigation is underway. The D.R.C.M.C. are actively working toward capturing the loose dragon in a safe and humane manner, but would like to remind all wizards and witches in the meantime that the Peruvian Vipertooth is an extremely dangerous breed with a penchant for human flesh and advise any who may encounter the dragon to not attempt to harm it, as an attack would antagonize the creature, making it more difficult for the department to capture.
Readers should remain on the alert. The dragon in question is approximately fifteen feet in length, has smooth, copper coloured scales, and short horns on its head. Its fangs are venomous. It feeds on livestock and humans, and again, is highly dangerous. Do not attempt to engage or lure the beast in any way. Any sightings should be immediately reported to the D.R.C.M.C. at the Ministry.

Goblins Deny Gringotts Break In

A goblin spokesman today vigorously denied rumours that Gringotts bank was robbed for the third time in recent years.

"Gringotts bank has enacted a major overhaul of its security procedures since the events of the wizard war, and we can tell you in no uncertain terms that no robbery has taken place." said the spokesman.

He went on to point out that a full audit of customer deposit boxes and vaults had just recently been completed, and it was quite certain that none of them had been tampered with.

"Go back to your wizard newspaper and tell them there is no story here." The spokesman finished.

Invaluable Lost Hufflepuff Work Located in Hogwarts School

A remarkable chain of events took place in the last couple of weeks as industrious students of Hogwarts School were led on a hunt through a series of ancient enchantments and riddles, from an initial clue found jotted in a margin of a work acquired recently for the Hogwarts school library.

The students from a variety of houses joined forces, sometimes having to help each other, as they could not access each other's common rooms. Working together on the riddles, they solved them one by one until a lost book was discovered.

The book is believed to be a journal written by Helga Hufflepuff herself, and Zacharias Smith, as a direct heir has already lodge a claim for the book to be turned over to him, although the ministry have confirmed that legal title remains with the Hogwarts Library.

The journal appears to have been written in a deliberately obscure mixture of Welsh and Old Norse, and is resisting charms designed to help with translation, but scholars at the school are already hard at work in attempting to discover what this journal can tell us about the life and works of one of the Hogwarts founders.

A spokesperson for Hogwarts said: "We are immensely proud of the industrious way these students applied their studies and tracked down this invaluable item. And moreso that the students immediately handed in their find".

Missing Student Returned Safely to Hogwarts

A boy reported missing from Hogwarts has returned safely.

The alarm was raised yesterday when the student did not attend lessons and could not be located, but he has now returned to the school.

School authorities declined to comment further to the Daily Prophet.

New Quake Rocks New Salem

The tranquility of New Salem was again rocked last night by a brief but distinct trembling of the earth. The tremor itself caused less of a stir than events immediately following, when there were reports of heightened ghost activity.

"I looked out of the window to see what was going on," said Alfred Turbeville, "And all of a sudden I saw this face looking back at me out of the dark."

Whilst some neighbours dismissed Alfred's story as "just Alfred's butterbeer talking", several other similar reports of faces, disturbed pets, ghosts and strange mutterings on the breeze were recorded.

Whilst no damage was reported, the quake seems to have been felt quite widely in other areas across the country, and muggle news reports are carrying details of it also.

Former Ministry of Magic Worker Found Dead

Officials have today confirmed that the body of former Ministry of Magic employee, Hermes Wrigglesworth, was found in his home after reports of a break in.

Wrigglesworth's suburban mansion in Purley was emitting a high pitched scream for some 30 minutes before an auror arrived on the scene. The magical alarm was activated by persons unknown aparating into the premises, and there were signs of a struggle having ensued.

The body of Wrigglesworth was found in a back room, where he had been restrained by a powerful spell, and there was evidence of severe coercion before he died.

Wrigglesworth was a distinguished wizard. The Minister of Magic personally commending his work in reforming the regime at Azkaban. He was also creator of the autoindexing quill, the ever popular floo network interchange hub, and a range of mahogany wands created from managed rainforests.

He is survived by his estranged sons, two cats, a rabbit and an indeterminate number of mice.

The family have asked for donations to the Wizarding Pet Benevolent Fund in lieu of flowers.

New Senior Undersecretary at the Ministry of Magic

Tuqiri is the high flyer from the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts department who has caused a stir with her no nonsense approach and attention to the small details.

The appointment was announced last night at a formal banquet in London.

Earthquake in New Salem

Midnight last night New Salem was awoken by a medium magnitude earthquake, which caused disturbance, and minor structural damage. Said Sibyl Seelyham: "I woke up to a heck of a racket - my windows were rattling, and I thought maybe someone's wand had backfired until I saw it was happening all over. The oddest thing was the strange whispering sounds though - and weird lights too".

No one was hurt in the earthquake, although Boris Foss Beacerbrook was treated for injuries after he tripped over his cat whilst checking for damage. However there were several other reports of whispers on the wind, and strange lights being seen.

Asked whether this event was natural or magical, the Ministry of Magic declined to comment.

Tornado’s rampage across Glasgow; 4 muggles killed, hundreds injured

Last night an unknown wizard of witch placed a magical item in the heart of Glasgow city centre - one designed to summon and emit a series of magically created tornados. The item was fully working for some twenty minutes before the Ministry of Magic law enforcement department were able to respond, and extensive damage was caused over a four acre region of the city. There was widespread destruction of shops and flats.

At least 4 muggles are known to have died from their injuries and the Unspeakables have confirmed that they have seized the enchanted item, and they are currently investigating. A spokemsan said "someone put a sizeable hole in the middle of Glasgow, but we are looking into it".

And Glaswegian wizards with information or evidence is asked to come forward to appropriate authorities, where they will be treated in strictest confidence. A ministry spokesman said "come forward before we pass the investigation over to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, as they do not know how to say 'please'."

We would like to set the record straight to Miss Roebick-Smith's family and are happy to do so. We erroneously used the spelling "Smythe" and have been told in no uncertain terms that she was definitely a "Smith". Clementine Smith passed away at the weekend.

The Daily Prophet apologises for offence caused and we trust the spelling of Miss Roebuck-Smitt's name is now quite clear.

Unexpected Bequest to Hogwarts School

Hogwarts school were celebrating an unexpected bequest this week from Clementine Roebuck-Smith, who died last Saturday after a short illness.

A significant proportion of her renowned collection of ancient and rare books were bequeathed to Hogwarts School Library in her will. These include at least one book written in the hand of one of the founders, Rowena Ravenclaw. Although considered a fairly unimportant notebook of daily accounts, it is nevertheless a book of near ienstiamble value, and many more works are still awaiting identification and classification.

"We are so grateful to Miss Roebuck-Smith for her consideration in her will." Said headmistress Copplepott, for Hogwarts School, "Some of the books are returning to their natural home. And who knows what treasures they hold".

Enquiries by parties interested in perusing these books should be sent to Madam Lotus, librarian of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of Clementine Roebuck-Smith, after a short period of illness. Roebuck-Smith was for many years a member of the Wizengamot, and had a succesful career in the research of the low level effects of domestic charm use on garden gnomes.

She will also be remembered for her extensive collection of rare and collectable books, which in some areas has been compared to the library of Hogwarts.

The department of magical law enforcement has reported an increase in the number of speeding offences in the last year. Year on year statistics show that fines were up nearly 10% for flying at excessive speed through muggle controlled zones, and flying without due care and attention to observation offences were up by 8%.

Filius Ambridge, spokesman for the safety group "BRASS" (Broom Riders Against Silly Speeds) condemned selfish flyers for risking observation by Muggles.

In the worst incident, a group of young witches were almost in collision with a Muggle light plane as they practiced quidditch, and a stray bludger left a sizeable dent in the muggle artefact.

"All broom riders should ensure they comply with the provisions of the Broom Traffic Act" said Ambridge.

"I can continue to assure you that we have no evidence of a large enough and organised group wizards sufficient to cause such wholesale social change," insisted Madam Rubble of the Ministry of Magic, "and in any case, the Muggles are happy about this, so why are we worrying? No doubt they just moved on to greener pastures."

The Ministry was also quick to re-affirm that there have been no cases of disappearances of any witches or wizards ("Other than Elmira Babbage", added one official. "But she always goes missing on Fridays. She has been known to vanish for months at a time. So we are not worried".)

No Word on Mysterious Lights

Ministry of Magic investigators have so far turned up no clues as to the nature of the mysterious light seen in the skies across the UK recently.

Whilst muggle press has been full of speculation about Unmistakable Falling Objects (UFOs) and muggle military movements have indicated more than a passing interest in the phenomenon, ministry of magic officials have confirmed that they suspect magical forces were at work.

However recent investigations in the Lake District have turned up no new leads, and the ministry of magic has denied that it has lost touch with any of its aurors.

Lost Scoop Returned

There was joy in the Foss-Beaverbrook family this week after the recovery of the famous scoop of Bartimeus.

The scoop is the very same one used by the great potions master Bartimeus Beaverbrook, who was famous both for the potency of his potions, and their pleasant mint flavour. Indeed there has been much speculation and several research papers regarding the properties of the scoop itself, with some suggesting that it was a charm in the scoop that gave the potions their magical potency.

In a recent robbery at the home of Milicent Foss-Beaverbrook, magical items to the value of a thousand galleons were taken, but the greatest loss was the legendary scoop. Remarkably the thieves did not seem to appreciate the value of the item they held as it seems it was then thrown into the lake by Hogwarts School, Scotland, observed at a distance by witnesses practicing quidditch.

Said Tom Trevethick "I was just showing Riko a cool spot where you get a pretty view of the sunset near the south rings, when I heard a splash and Jadz saw someone throw a loo brush or something in the lake".

Also witnessing the event was one Safra Nitely, who with some other class mates started to put together the pieces of the puzzle when the lake developed a minty aroma. Hearing about the recent robbery, and paying special attention in classes, enterprising students realised that the missing scoop may have been discarded in the lake. Somehow they then managed to persuade hostile mermaids that it was in their interests to retrieve the scoop and return it, and they then handed the item to the headmistress of Hogwarts.

"I am just so happy to have the scoop returned safely". Said Milicent Foss Beaverbrook yesterday. "I shall be forever in the debt of young Safra, and her friends at Hogwarts".

FORMER MINISTER OF MAGIC PASSES AWAY

Former Minister of Magic Millicent Bagnold died late Friday evening from complications due to a magical strain of lung cancer. She passed away in her home in London, in the presence of her granddaughter and a team of St. Mungo's Healers.

Madam Bagnold served as Minister of Magic from 1980 until 1990, when she retired and was succeeded by Cornelius Fudge. Her term in office will be remembered throughout history, as she took the post the year before the downfall of You-Know-Who. Both supporters and critics of the Ministry of Magic during that difficult time agree that Millicent Bagnold's intelligence and ability to lead were vital to the Ministry's success in subduing the Dark Lord in 1989.

Madam Bagnold is survived by her granddaughter Elizabeth Maria Bonetto. Her daughter Angela Bagnold Bonetto was killed during a raid on a Dark Wizard encampment in Romania in 2003, along with her husband, Nigel Bonetto.

A quiet funeral will be held Monday morning in an undisclosed location, in honor of the family's request.

KITSUNE RELEASED WITH CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH

Shalinoth Kitsune, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was released from St. Mungo's. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Magic released a statement claiming the the Headmaster was in good health and of sound mind.

When asked for comment, Senior Undersecretary Calldron stated "I am pleased that Hogwarts will have its Headmaster back. It will be especially required for him to be in good spirits in the upcoming days."

ACCUSED CRIMINAL DISRUPTS MINISTRY FUNCTION

Claudius Archan, the man under suspicion of attacking children, was arrested Friday evening after disrupting a Ministry function. He was accused of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

The event was the marriage ceremony between Director of Magical Law Enforcement Slade Dreadlow, and Director of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures Rayna Kievnov. It was held at the church in Godric's Hollow. In attendence was Headmaster Shalinoth Kitsune, recently released from his stay in St. Mungo's, Deputy Headmaster Ambrose Huddleston, and the ailing former Minister of Magic Millicent Bagnold.

The perpetrator disrupted the ceremony and refused to leave when ordered to by Former Minister Bagnold. Auror in training Karina Nicholls sudued Archan after a battle of spells, and took him to the Wizengamot holding cells. Nicholls is accused by some of using excessive force. When asked for comment, a spokesperson for the Ministry said "The Ministry is investigating these allegations."

A witness at the wedding said "Archan was rude, and disrupted what was meant to be a private function with no provocation. He had no right to be there, and he should have been ejected on sight!"

NEW BROOM MODEL DONATED TO CHUDLEY CANNONS

The fans in orange have much to cheer for these days. The Chudley Cannons are having a terrific season, and things just keep looking up. An anonymous patron donated a fleet of Lightfoot brooms, a sleek broom that beats the Firebolt everytime.

Rodney Ecksen of the famed "Quality Quidditch Supplies" shop in Diagon Alley reported that the anonymous patron ordered them with nothing more than a letter and sack of Galleons. The letter was delivered by an "odd little owl who kept knocking things over", said Ecksen.

Dilbert Duncan, the manager of the Cannons, was thrilled once the brooms were sweeped for signs of magical interference. "The Cannon's have never played better, I says! We'll be taking the season for sure now."

CALLDRON HAS PLANS FOR HOGWARTS

The conflict between the Romanians and Transylvanian nationalists rages on, levelling villages of wizardry and the Muggle world alike. Romanian Minister of Magic, Lazar Comanescu, was quoted early this morning. "The combatants have no respect for life, be it wizard or Muggle. All attempts at diplomacy are met with violence."

Comanescu was made famous for his passing of the Wizarding Treaty Act, ending the Five Years War between Romania and Yugoslavia some twenty years ago.

The muggle village of Nicusor was devasted with the insurgants moved through. The Muggle government has issued a warning to all surrounding towns to protect themselves in anyway possible.

There is no reason to believe the insurgents are targeting Muggles. A spokesman for the UK Department of International Cooperation said earlier "No one is safe now."

ALCHEMIST ATTACK ON HOGWARTS

Tyler Flax, a Ravenclaw first year, was turned to stone by an unnamed assailant. The only description the Auror investigating received was an "unshaven alchemist".

The only witness was Claudius Archan, recently released suspected criminal. He was accused of maliciously attacking children by setting them on fire. He was removed from his professor postion at Hogwarts for the same.

The Auror said she would be interviewing Archan to collect an official statement from him.

A student healer called for St. Mungo's personel to collect the patient, due to the advanced nature of the case.

ATTACK ON SOUTH EFFERVY

The sleepy wizarding village of South Effervy was attacked on Saturday evening, leaving two wizards dead. Aurors in the area were summoned but arrived too late to save William and Elenora Wickels, both 34. Both were victims of the Killing Curse.
The only living witness is their daughter Sarah Wickels, a nine year old girl who was too terrified to utter a sound, which saved her. She hid in a cupboard and saw her parents killed while looking through the keyhole.
She told the Aurors that the attackers had thick accents and spoke in a language she could not understand. The only phrase she understood was "Justice to pigs", screamed by one of the two assailants before he cast the Unforgivable Curse.
William Wickels was a member of the Ministry of Magic's International Cooperation Department. He led the Campaign for Wizarding Understanding, to bridge the commnication gaps between Wizarding nations in Europe. He was a Ravenclaw.
Elenora Wickels was an employee on the Muggle-Worthy Excuses Committee, and an active member of her community Wand Lore Appreciation Society. She was a Gryffindor.

AZRA, NEW ACADEMY FOR TROUBLED YOUNG WIZARDS

Early this morning the Ministry issued a press release today regarding the formation of a new wizarding Academy in an undisclosed location in the United Kingdom. The Azkaban Reform Academy, or Azra, has been designed to be a preventitive program for troubled young witches and wizards in our community. With this program they intend to help troubled children before they end up wasting their future in Azkaban.

Senior Undersecretary Annabella Calldron said at the press conference, "Azra will be a beacon of hope throughout the United Kingdom, helping young students work through their problems in an environment that can offer the discipline and order they so desperately require. Students will stay a minimum of six months as they are rehabilitated."

Calldron went on further, "Azra has the unanimous support of the newly formed Board of Governors for Hogwarts, as well as the support of Hogwarts' Headmaster, Shalinoth Kitsune."
A Ministry employee who asked to remain nameless reports that the school will serve as a prison for those too young for Azkaban, but can still wield a wand and pose a threat to the wizarding community. Our source refused to comment further.

Mysterious Storm Lashes Hogwarts and Hogsmeade

An unusually intense late spring storm formed over the region Sunday night. The storm strengthened late Monday, flooding across the low-lying areas.

For safety reasons, all residents must to stay away from streams and gullies where water levels may rise quickly.

The storm's origins are rather mysterious. The Weather Service in London shows clear weather across the Isles. The storm doesn’t seem to be anywhere. No magical artifact or spell seems to be able to detect the storm. Muggle news have not mentioned anything about it either. Ministry workers are investigating the matter and will contact our staff as soon as they have more information about this phenomenon.

We are celebrating ten years of peace. Time has passed but I still celebrate the way we did at home after we heard the Dark Lord had been defeated in that final Battle at Hogwarts. The horrors of the war were something I wish I could forget everyday and at the same time I always want to remember.

After reading these pages, you will realize that those times of war were a lot darker than we thought.

I have to mention that I am proud of the way how our Minister of Magic stood up for his beliefs, making public the information in the files about death eaters. There are divided opinions about Shackbolt’s decision. While some people support his decision, others think he is making a mistake.

The Minister knows the wounds in our hearts will never heal while we keep wondering things. So, as a legitimate gesture of human kindness he’s opening these dark files to the public to give us answers.

Once a boy was marked with a scar that would never let him forget his life had been touched by pain. The horror of the war hurt him before he could even understand what love and hate were all about. In the same way the war marked our lives with pain. Our wounds healed, but we will always have scars that should never let us forget what we went through. They should make us remember why we are here. It is our mission to share with the world the best of us.

Today I am more inspired than ever by the courage and integrity of those warriors that risked or lost their lives fighting for freedom and justice. We are a better society because of what they did. We need to keep working together, standing by each other, defending our beliefs, living without fear. That is the best way to celebrate our freedom. That is the way to keep alive the dream of a nation that accepts us all despite our differences. That is the best way to honor our warriors. If we keep defending the dream, the sacrifice they made will never be forgotten.

The Romanian war is bringing Venetian Cauldrons

While we celebrate ten years of peace the war continues in Romania. We all remember Transylvania as the nation who won the first Quidditch World Cup. When they disappeared as a nation we all knew it was only a matter of time before the proud Transylvanians started to fight the Romanians to recover their territory and reestablish their nation.

They have been fighting for six months now and this war doesn’t seem to be anywhere close to the end.

Rebels seem to be gaining ground. Battles are fought everyday and still the Ministry says everything is under control and they are not worried about their political stability. However, while they pretend things are not getting out of hand, the horrors of the war suggest things are not as fine as they wanted us to believe.

Early this morning the Romanian Vice-Minister was hexed. He was taken to the local hospital and healers there have refused to share any details about his condition. Rumors say the attack was part of a new offensive Transylvanians are planning. Whether or not this is true is still unclear. The Romanian Minister of Magic, Lazăr Comănescu, affirmed that the event was just an accident and it had nothing to do with separatist wizards trying to take over the nation like the local news suggest.

Massive muggle murders in Romania suggest the fights there might not be just about Transylvanians trying to restore their nation. Whether the murders are incidents related to the war or no is not clear yet. There are rumors about small groups of dark wizards that are having fun torturing muggles while posing as separatists.

The Deparment of Magical Transportation reported this morning that the Floo Network in our territory is still working normally and connecting to all locations in Romania. However, the Ministry of Magic is warning people about how unwise it is to visit that country while the war lasts.

Worried merchants have already found alternatives to replace products they imported from Romania. Malaysia and Egypt seem to be the new places from where they are importing goods. A group of witches that used to import cauldrons from Romania informed they are now selling Italian cauldrons even though they are more expensive than the Transylvanian ones.

Rodolfa Aristegui, owner of “Cauldrons Aristegui” expressed the war has not affected the stability of her business even thought most of the items she sells at her store were imported from Romania. When we asked her how the introduction of these products brought from other regions is affecting her business she said: “These cauldrons I’m bringing from Venice are not only beautiful, they are so good that people have not even noticed they are more expensive than the ones we normally sell”.

“The Final Battle”

I was in London.
This is what I remember most about that night and that dawn. It started with me in London. Who I was with and what I was doing is unimportant. Even today some of the dealings of the order of the Phoenix must remain secret.

The summons came very quickly. Aberforth Dumbledore smuggled Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley into Hogwarts. With Snape fleeing, the die was cast. I remember needing to get to a portkey. I was never the best broom flyer, and I must admit taking great risk to get to the portkey to Hogsmeade, and then the long tunnel to walk into a war.

I could recount the fighting, the spells, the destruction wrought upon the school. I could describe the smell of the giants and the creatures. I could tell you about the cold feeling one gets in the pit of the gut when someone you have known for years dies and the way things slow when a hex flies at your face. But none of this is important. What is important is that we never forget the 48 people who died that day defending freedom. What is important is that we never forget that people made a stand against fear, lies and secrecy. This is why I release today details about the Death Eaters; so there are no more secrets. So we can build a new future together.

When Harry Potter killed the Dark Lord, so easily, so simply; it was as if a veil had been lifted. We were afraid of ourselves. We were afraid of each other far more than the Dark Lord. He was powerful, yes, but his true power lied in fear.

! We must oppose fear in all things! ! Fear destroys societies!
Look at the Muggle World. They are terrified of terrorists and pollution. Terrified of crime, of ‘identity theft’ (no idea what this is but if I find Wizards are involved I will not be happy). They are terrified of their neighbours, money and another hundred things. If they have nothing to be afraid of, they deliberately seek out something to be afraid of.

We can help where we can but really that is the Muggles problem.

We must not become afraid like we were when Voldemort was around.
It nearly killed us last time. ! We need to learn from the past!

! Exclusive! MINISTRY OF MAGIC REVEALS ALL NAMES AND FATES OF DEATH EATERS

It is hard to give precise about Voldemort’s followers. But thanks to magic and the testimony of some eye witnesses we learned some details about the inner workings of the organization known as “The Knights of Walpurgis” or “The Death Eaters”.

This group was formed by Tom Riddle in 1952, near Godric's Hollow. When the organization was created, they were just a small group with less than seven members. They began to grow in number around the late 50’s when Tom Riddle started to gain power. By the end of the 60’s the group was larger and it already had the bad reputation that made us all fear them.

The list of crimes committed by this organization is incredibly long. So long we couldn’t include all the details. However we tried to include the most relevant details about each member of the organization, their dark activities and their fate.

THE KNIGHTS OF WALPURGIS

*Aluveaux, Henry - Supposedly joined the Death Eaters in the 60’s, a long time supporter of Riddle, earned a reputation in the First War as ‘The Death Eaters Main Torturer’- he delighted in malicious magic. ‘Bella’ named him ‘her mentor’.
After the Dark Lord died the first time he went missing and many assume he fled the country. He has NOT been seen since.

* Avery Sr. (b. late 1920s)
One of the earliest members of the Death Eaters. He attended Hogwarts with Tom Riddle. He was father of the Avery boy that attended Hogwarts with Severus Snape. He was killed in the Battle of Hogwarts.

* Avery Jr. (b. late 1950s or early 1960s)
Attended Hogwarts with Severus Snape and was one of his “gang of Slytherins,” according to Sirius Black. Avery Jr. avoided Azkaban after the first war because he claimed to be acting under the influence of the Imperius Curse. Later reports cite Avery Jr. as the first Death Eater to crack and grovel at Voldemort's feet during the “reunion” of the order at the Little Hangleton graveyard. Surviving Death Eaters informed the ministry that Voldemort punished them with the Cruciatus Curse for abandoning him for 13 years. Avery Jr. was also punished when Lord Voldemort learned that the information he got about the Department of Mysteries was wrong and only he himself or Harry Potter could safely take a prophecy from its resting place. He survived to fight in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and died during the Battle of Hogwarts.

* Bagman, Ludovic
Suspected of being a Death Eater but cleared of all charges. Bagman was an unwitting part of Rookwood's intelligence network. He was arrested in two occasions but no evidence could be found to declare him guilty.

* Black, Regulus Arcturus (c. 1961 - 1979)
He was cousin of Bellatrix Lestrange and brother of Sirius Black. Information disclosed by Harry Potter and Hermione Granger confirmed that he joined the Death Eaters at the age of 16 and remained in the order for two years. He discovered that Tom Riddle was engaged in more than just promoting the superiority of Pure Bloods. He learned that the Dark Lord was experimenting with very Dark Magic and decided to rebel against him. Apparently he died as a hero.
A note at the end of this file indicates that the full details about Voldemort’s experiments are part of the secret files of the Department of Mysteries.

*Carrow, Alecto
Sister of Amycus Carrow and part of the group of Death Eaters that invaded Hogwarts in the Battle of the Tower. Part of the ‘third generation’ of followers. The ones that were never jailed after the first fall of Riddle. She became a Professor at Hogwarts (DADA) for a short period of time. She was arrested after the Battle of Hogwarts and now is serving a life sentence in Azkaban.

* Carrow, Amycus
Alecto Carrow's brother. Described as a squat, "lumpy" looking wizard with a lopsided leer and a wheezy giggle. He was part of the group of Death Eaters who participated in the Battle of the Tower. He was arrested after the Battle but was declared too insane to stand trail. He’s still in St. Mungo’s hospital.

* Carrow, Jaden and Matilda
They were the only known American followers of the Dark Lord. The Carrows came from the United States with allegations of attacks upon Muggles against them. They came to Britain and hid in the muggle world. They provided the Dark Lord with valuable information about Muggle targets. Named in the Karkaoff trial, they both served several years in Azkaban and escaped during the mass break out in Summer 1997. Their freedom was short. They worked closely with Umbridge in the Muggle-born Registration Commission, but they were arrested in the purge of the Ministry and sent back to prison.

* Crabbe, Arthur
Father of Vincent Crabbe. He fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. Crabbe was one of the nine Death Eaters summoned to the Little Hangleton graveyard and was crippled at the Battle of Hogwarts. Falling masonry smashed his legs and a hex fired by a death eater removed the pulverized bones leaving him forever that way. He died three years ago in Azkaban.

* Crouch, Barty (Jr.)
He was part of the group that tortured the Longbottoms, for which he was given a life sentence in Azkaban. Thanks to his family's efforts, he escaped Azkaban only to be held prisoner by his own father. When the Dark Lord heard about his survival, he rescued him. Crouch was given the delicate task of entering Hogwarts. He achieved this using Polyjuice Potion to impersonate Auror Moody. His mission was to find a way to send Harry Potter to the Dark Lord.
He was punished with the Dementor's Kiss. His body is now an empty shell that keeps him “alive” even though he has no soul or sense of self.

* Crowe, Lyrea and Juden
The file indicates their real name was actually 'Von Muller'. They used the name Crowe to hide their real identity from the aurors.
He graduated from Drumstrang and she was a Hufflepuff. He served the Dark Lord from the 80’s. He was named as part of the Karkaroff evidence but was cleared of all charges after he claimed to have acted under Imperius Curse. Seemingly respectable, he married Lyrea (an offshoot of a long established pure blood family) and she soon joined him in the practice of Dark Magic. They both fought at the Battle of Hogwarts. Juden was captured and sent to Azkaban and his wife escaped and was trying to leave the country alongside Rodolphus Lestrange when she was killed by aurors.

* Dolohov, Antonin
He joined Voldemort around 1955. He was part of the ‘first generation of followers’. Along with four other Death Eaters, he murdered Gideon and Fabian Prewett and tortured many Muggles and opponents of Voldemort during the first war. He was caught shortly after Karkaroff named him during his own trial. They sent him to Azkaban and he escaped during the mass breakout of January 1996.
Dolohov fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. According to the record he injured Hermione Granger and killed Remus Lupin during the Battle at Hogwarts. He is still serving a life sentence in Azkaban for those crimes.

* Fiddle, Selena "Cherry"
She was a young witch that joined the group in 1995 when the Dark Lord returned. She was one of his spies in the ministry. She was also involved in the murder of Scrimgeour and helped running the Umbridge controlled Ministry. She was head of the Department of Magical Transportation during the Death Eater’s domination and died in a portkey accident shortly after the Battle of Hogwarts

*Garside, Vilius
He was one of the last members who joined the group in the Spring of 1997. He fought at the Battle of Hogwarts but saw little action. He wasn’t found guilty of any major crimes so he was sentenced to five years in Azkaban and is now free.

* Gibbon, Richard
He was the Death Eater who set off the Dark Mark during the Battle of the Tower. He was killed by an “avada kedavra” that missed Remus Lupin.

* Goyle, Tobius
Father of Gregory Goyle. He was one of the 9 Death Eaters summoned to the Little Hangleton graveyard. He is currently serving a life sentence in Azkaban.

* Greyback, Fenrir
Despite his reputation Greyback was a low level Death Eater. Still he was a dangerous and evil man. He was a werewolf that enjoyed infecting and killing children. He was wounded at the Battle of Hogwarts, defeated by Neville Longbottom and Ron Weasley. He is currently serving a life sentence in Azkaban.

* Jugson, Sven
He fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, and a killing curse ended his life at the Battle of Hogwarts.

* Karkaroff, Igor (d. 1996)
He was captured by "Mad-Eye" Moody in 1979 after he haunted him for six months. By the time he went to a trial Voldemort had already fallen. Scared to serve a life sentence in Azkaban, he recanted his allegiance and sold out several other Death Eaters in exchange for immunity from prosecution. Not long after that he became headmaster of Durmstrang Institute.
When Voldemort returned, he attempted to run away to save his life. His dead body was found during the summer of 1996 in a shack up north with the Dark Mark over it.

* Lestrange Monteban (1920s)
Part of the first generation of followers. He met Tom Riddle while they were both attending Hogwarts. Father to Rabastan and Rodolphus Lestrange. The file indicates he was killed but doesn’t specify where, when or how.

* Lestrange, Bellatrix Black (1951-1998)
A member of the Black family. Sister of Narcissa Black Malfoy and Andromeda Black Tonks. Apparently she was unusually sadistic. She took part in the torture of Frank and Alice Longbottom and killed Sirius Black during the Battle at the Department of Mysteries. She was also killed at the Battle of Hogwarts.

* Lestrange, Rabastan
Brother of Rodolphus Lestrange. He took part in the torture of the Longbottoms and was given a life sentence in Azkaban for that. He escaped in the mass breakout of January 1996 and fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. This man was rounded up in the purge of the Ministry of Magic and is still in prison.

*Lestrange, Rodolphus
He was Rabastan’s brother and Bellatrix’s husband. He also took part in the torture of the Longbottoms for which he was given a life sentence in Azkaban. He escaped in the mass breakout of January 1996 along with his wife and brother and took part in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. According to the information in the file they have reasons to believe he and his wife were on bad terms before the final stages of the war. He was killed while trying to leave the country shortly after the final fall of the Dark Lord.

* Macnair, Walden
He was an executioner for the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures and one of the 9 Death Eaters summoned to the Little Hangleton graveyard. He was part of the group that persuaded giants to join the dark side. Apparently, he was the man with the black moustache that visited Bode at St. Mungo's on Christmas Eve. That "friend" who brought him the Devil's Snare that killed him.
Macnair was captured during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. He escaped and took part in the Battle of Hogwarts. There he was thrown into a wall and recaptured by Rubeus Hagrid.

* Malfoy, Draco
He was still underage when he joined the group. He found the way to prove that he joined the group because he was manipulated by the Dark Lord and his father. He was declared innocent and cleared of all charges.

* Malfoy, Lucius
Brother-in-law of Bellatrix Black Lestrange. Lucius escaped justice after Voldemort's downfall, claiming he had acted under the Imperius Curse. The file mentions he tormented Muggles for fun during a Quidditch World Cup.
Lucius served as one of Hogwarts' school governors until 1993, when a complex scheme to discredit Arthur Weasley backfired.
He tried to Imperius Broderick Bode to get a Prophecy but never succeeded. He was in command of the Death Eaters at the Department of Mysteries while the Dark Lord was absent. Despite all his crimes he found a way to avoid jail after the Battle of Hogwarts and is still free.

* Momiji, Victoria and Takeshi
They were both loyal followers of the Dark Lord. Takeshi was accused of having done ‘experiments’ on Muggles and some other atrocities. After Voldemort’s fall they claimed to have acted under the Imperius Curse and were condemned to serve reduced sentences in Azkaban. Takashi was murdered while he was still in prison. His wife was found dead shortly after she was set free. Ministry workers confirmed that she was killed by one the victims of Takashi’s atrocities.

* Montgomery, Lucius
He was one of the first followers of the Dark Lord. He was a British wizard that served Voldemort in America and was killed in 1976 during a nasty battle with the Order of the Phoenix.

* Mulciber
He was part of the first generation of Death Eaters and one of the Imperius Curse specialists. He fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and died two years ago in Azkaban.

* Nott, Reubas
He was part of the first generation of Death Eaters. Nott made it to avoid Azkaban after Voldemort's fall and was summoned to the "rebirthing party" in June 1995. He was fighting in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries when he was stunned by Hermione Granger. The Dark Lord had him released for a while and he was recaptured after the Battle of Hogwarts. He’s still serving his life sentence in Azkaban.

*Nott Lestrange, Tempest
A young recruit who joined the Death Eaters when Voldemort returned. She was involved in Umbridge’s Muggle Registration group and was accused of several atrocities against Muggle born wizards. She claimed to have acted under the Imperius curse and was cleared of all charges. This woman was recently found dead. Ministry workers say they have reasons to think she was killed by a group of dark wizards.

* Nott, Charleton
Son of Reubas Nott. He joined as soon as he graduated form Hogwarts and was killed during an attack upon a pair of Muggle born Wizards in 1984.

* Petrov, Anton
Romanian born Death Eater. He met Tom Riddle while they were both still attending Hogwarts. He went on business to the United States with Lucius Montgomery and returned to Britain in the 70’s. He fled after Voldemort’s first fall and came back to serve him again when he returned. Auror Tonks killed him during the Battle of Hogwarts.

* Pettigrew, Peter "Wormtail" (b. 1960 - 1998)
He was an unregistered animagus and the close friend that betrayed James Potter. He killed Cedric Diggory and sacrificed his right hand to brew the potion that brought Voldemort back. The Dark Lord replaced his hand with a silver one that killed him later.

*Qunhua, Aulus and Lauretia
A glamorous and active couple of Gryffindor’s that got married shortly after they graduated from Hogwarts. Both had a fast rise in the Department of Mysteries and were devoted followers of Rockwood. Despite being named in trial documents they managed to escape justice and lived quietly until the return of the Dark Lord. Both were killed at the Battle of Hogwarts.

* Rookwood, Augustus
He was a spy that worked for the Department of Mysteries. This sneaky man had plenty of agents inside the Ministry. Half of them didn’t really know who they were really working for.
Karkaroff named Rookwood during his trial and got him sent to Azkaban. Years later he escaped in the mass breakout of January 1996. He fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and was finally killed during the battle of Hogwarts.

* Rosier. Leonard
This handsome member of the group was part of the first generation of Death Eaters and was killed during the first war.

* Rosier, Evan (b. late 1950s or early 1960s - c. 1980)
Another member of Snape’s gang of Slytherins. He died fighting the aurors in 1980. That day, this man took a big chunk out of Auror Moody's nose while trying to resist arrest.

*Rosier, Samuel
The younger brother of Evan. He was a Ravenclaw and was one of the first to join the Dark Lord after his brother’s death. He was described as a rather fanatical and nasty follower that left the country after Voldemort’s first fall. He returned for the Second War and was killed in the Battle of Hogwarts.

* Rowle, Thorfinn
He took part in the Battle of the Tower and the Battle of Hogwarts. He is actually serving a life sentence in Azkaban.

* Snape, Severus
He was a talented wizard with an extraordinary ability to brew potions. He was Head of Slytherin house while Albus Dumbledore was headmaster at Hogwarts. Some details in the file suggest he worked as a double agent and died as a hero.

*Sawson, Penterghast XXIII- Known as the “Butcher of Bath”. He was responsible for the first large scale murder of Muggles by the order in 1973. In this event, four streets of the city of Bath were animated to come alive and attack people. The incident caused the death of over 92 muggles. He was sent to Azkaban during the first war. Dementors tortured him so badly that he is now in a vegetative state.

*Sawson, Penterghast XXIV- Son of the “Butcher of Bath. This chip of the old block is famous for enchanting and transfiguring muggle domestic pets into wild monster creatures. Death Eaters remember him for the infamous ‘Killer Kitten Charm’. He is still serving life sentence in Azkaban for several child murders and other crimes.

* ThNote, Alvern and his wife Adeania. This couple served the Dark Lord for 16 years. They joined the group in 1982 and died at the Battle of Hogwarts after Rubeus Hagrid slew them with a cross bow.

* Thirroul, Selwynn
A young Death Eater whose brother is actually working at the ministry. His whereabouts are unknown. Aurors are still looking for him. He’s wanted for a long list of crimes that includes the murder of several muggles and at least one Auror.

* Thirroul, Sabastian-
He’s described as a "massive blond" Death Eater. This man caused tremendous damage in the Battle of the Tower. Shortly after that he was captured and sentenced to life in prison. Thirroul managed to escape once but was quickly recaptured and is still in Azkaban.

* Thirroul, Gabriel
Harry Potter stunned him during the Battle of the Tower. He took part in the arrest and murder of over a dozen wizards and more than forty muggles. He died at the Battle of Hogwarts, lacerated by shards of glass.

* Travers, Andew
Karkaroff accused him of murdering the McKinnons. He was related to the Blacks and the Thirrouls. According to the report, he was killed by Aurors while resisting arrest.

* Wilkes. He attended Hogwarts with Snape and was part of his "gang of Slytherins". Also killed by Aurors in 1980.

* Wickham, Gregory and Abigail
The Wickhams were apparently respectable. Both came from very traditional families. According to the file they were the kind of people that seem to relish murder and death. Voldemort himself appointed them as ‘regional coordinators’. After Voldemort’s first fall, they claimed to have served the Dark Lord under the Imperius curse. They were cleared of all charges and rejoined the group for the second war. None of them took part in the Battle of Hogwarts and they were both captured trying to escape after Voldemort’s fall. Both were sent to Azkaban and died there while serving a life sentence for their crimes.

* Wrigglesworth, Wilfrid
This man was a very young Auror. He uncovered Rockwood’s duplicity but fell under the Imperius Curse shortly after that. Imperiused, he served the Dark Lord during the first war. When Voldemort returned, he fought the Death Eaters and survived. He is now a retired Auror.

* Writer, Robert and Anne. A very traditional couple, obsessed with blood. They were related to the Blacks and the Malfoys. They joined in the early 80’s and were captured in the Battle of Hogwarts. They are in Azkaban, serving life sentences for a very long list of crimes.

*Yaxley. He was a leading figure in the group and also former Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He was defeated by George Weasley and Lee Jordan in the Battle of Hogwarts.

Little Miss Lynch, the shining star of the Slytherin Team

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff was one incredibly exciting match. The hufflepuffs did all they could, they fought hard to keep scoring but they just didn’t have a player to match the talent of Miss Ciara Lynch. This little Slytherin is only a first year but flies like a professional. Keep that name in mind because I think we will hear amazing things about her ability in the future. If she keeps training hard she could be joining our national team even before she graduates. She was the star of the game. Her fans didn’t stop cheering her until the match was over.

The Slytherins were having a wonderful time celebrating and the infuriated Hufflepuffs shared their frustration with the world by yelling things that showed how impressed they were with the talent little Miss Lynch showed at the pitch.

At 2:47 the game was standing 80 to 270 when the amazingly fast, Dea Thnote, caught the snitch, leaving the score at 420 to 80.

Overworkerd Teachers at Hogwarts?

Some teachers at Hogwarts seemed to be so dedicated to their jobs that they seem to be losing their minds. Several members of the staff have been seen around Hogsmeade in embarrassing situations that compromise the image of the school.

Professor Floreana Writer has been seen falling asleep everywhere, looking pale and thin and walking bare feet around town. A couple of students say they have seen her sleeping on the floor of the Three Broomsticks and her own niece admitted she has been acting different and she has forgotten she has to teach in a couple of occasions.

Our team will keep you informed about this situation. We don’t know yet what is happening with this teacher. Some rumors say she just hasn’t been able to get over her sister’s death.

We visited her cousin Penterghast Salmson at his Manor in Edinburgh and he laughed at the rumors. He said “My cousin has no heart; she doesn’t care about anyone but herself and the Slytherin house. She’s all about pride and knowledge. She might be going crazy, feeling guilty, she has no feelings and her soul is ripped”.
Mr. Salmson refused to explain his statement. We don’t know what he meant but we will find out and keep you informed.

Writer doesn’t seem to be the only teacher that is loosing her head. Students have seen the Headmaster coming back to the castle looking disheveled. He was once heard commenting that “he had been dragged through a hedge backwards”. He has also been seen leaving the castle in traveling clothes with a broom in his hand and then apparating elsewhere.

Hogwarts Must Be Latin for Chaos

When I walked through those profoundly famous gates of academia 6 months ago I was giddy with pride to attend the same institution as my father, his father and his father’s. Well you get the point. I made friends fast and loved all of my classes. This term things have changed. Our beloved school is going to hell in a hand basket (a muggle term I learned in muggle studies.)
Let’s start with the students: Seriously, they must be passing out acceptance letters at the same youth correctional facility they sent Justify Darkstone to. Students are openly defying authority at Hogwarts. The Great Hall was turned into some kind of swamp several weeks ago. First year students were being taken to Hospital Ward after drinking fire whiskey while other students were going crazy with Dung bomb fights in the Great Hall.
No one seems to care about the study of magic any more. Students are more interested in throwing dung at Professors.
It seems like no one cares about the fine traditions of our prestigious School anymore.
My advice to students:
Stop breaking rules just because! Maybe only throw dung or firecrackers once a month instead of everyday. Stop arguing with the Deputy Headmasters and Professors. This is easier to do then you think. When a professor tells you to do something just do it. Even if you disagree do it. Have some pride in your School.
Now speaking about professors:Several weeks ago Professor Archan attempted to murder a college in the middle of the Great Hall. Anywhere else in the world you could be sent to Azkaban for that, but at Hogwarts, you get promoted to head disciplinarian.

But that is not all, Archan and the New potions Professor pointed their wands at the Deputy Headmaster to prevent him from sending an insane student to St. Mungos.
New teachers dress in a way that doesn’t honor Hogwarts tradition. They openly defy the more experienced faculty. How can students be expected to act properly when the professors do not set a proper example?
I still love Hogwarts and there are a few great teachers here. I just feel Hogwarts has changed. Please bring it back!

Explosive Cauldrons in Canada

The Canadian Department of Magical accidents and Catastrophes had a really busy night yesterday. Early in the evening they received several reports about a massive show of fireworks coming from a small town near Brandon, Manitoba.

During the first two hours, the ministry ignored the reports thinking it could be a muggle celebration taking place in Elm Creek. Hours passed and owls kept coming, it was almost midnight when ministry workers finally went to Brandon to inspect the zone. They did not find a celebration or fireworks, just a witch going mad, brewing different potions in thirty-five cauldrons at the same time.

Bad quality cauldrons and a bad mix of ingredients caused an accident that thanks to the arrival of ministry workers didn’t result in tragedy. The cauldrons exploded and kept shooting a substance that created what looked like Bengal lights decorating the sky. The house was burning, neighbors were watching and the old witch kept using one spell and another trying to control the situation and things went worse every time she tried to fix things.

Muggles were scared and confused staring at the scene when another house went on fire. The whole town panicked and things seemed to be getting out of hand, but the talented team of wizards solved the situation in less than forty minutes. They had to modify a few memories and repair some damaged houses. Luckily no one reported unusual activities in the local muggle news; they only mentioned a mentally unstable old woman that seemed to be lost, scaring everyone in town. The ministry is investigating the origin of the cauldrons that clearly didn’t meet the international regulations. The old witch was taken to the local hospital and she might be facing some consequences that can go from a fine of over one thousand Galleons to a few months in prison.

The Montague Family

Whilst the Family claim to trace their roots right back to the founding of Hogwarts, even going so far as to suggest they were the extended family of Salazar Slytherin himself, official records show that the self-proclaimed nobility of the Montague Lineage only dates back to around one thousand years ago. It is then that things become a little too clouded over and facts turn to speculation which turns to pure conjecture. Still, a thousand years is no mean feat even by wizarding standards.

Earliest records show the family residing in Normandy, in 1040, under an eccentric alchemist who went by the name of Drago. The most recent prolific entry in the Montague genealogy is Baron Montague of Beauliue, owner of a large castle and estate in America.

Some of you may remember the Montagues made an impact in Hogwarts a decade ago when one of them was the Slytherin Quidditch Captain, during that Inquisitorial chapter of the Ministry debacle. This particular young Montague even served on Umbridge's little team of insider students, the Inquistorial Squad.

And now, records show that Hogwarts is to have another visit from the Montague Family. Young Erasmus Montague, son of the self-titled Earl of Appleby* , Michael Erasmus Montague, and his wife Malicia Montague. Both were Slytherins in their Hogwarts days. So naturally the lad is expected to follow suit.

It is rumoured that the family, for whatever reason, is facing difficulties in having their son enrolled and sorted. The lad has been accepted into the school grounds but will take up residence in Hogsmeade while the paperwork is dealt with. This reporter wonders if the lads premature acceptance on the school grounds bears any correlation to a shipment of vintage magical Absinthe which recently arrived at the school. But of course one doesn't report such things as fact.

Headmaster NOT forced to drink

Sources in Hogwarts have revealed that the Headmaster is NOT having a nervous breakdown, but more importantly he is not trying to escape from the pressures of his job by turning to drink.

“I know he got very drunk the other night,” said one member of the faculty, “But he is a great man and that was because he got the ingredients in his cough mixture confused. NOT at all because he is a broken man being driven insane by the endless torment of the Sorting hat!”

Another staff member commented, “The Headmaster does NOT drink himself into oblivion every evening, and is not found in a sozzled heap by the House Elves every dawn”

Representatives of the Ministry have confirmed that no one has approached them concerned about the Headmasters suitability for the job, however the Prophet does hope that the Ministry will step in and deal with some of the Headmaster's lewd behaviour if it seems necessary to do so.

Are you a Hogwarts Parent?

The Hogwarts Board of Governors is looking to select a set of parent Governor to join this, the oversight body of the greatest Wizarding School in the world.

The board of Governors, reformed after the 'Malfoy Knobbling Case', is made up of a representative of the Ministry, two faculty members, the headmaster, two parents and a student (usually elected by popular vote).

It is due to meet soon and is the final say on the running of the school and is the body responsible for the hiring and the firing of the headmasters.

Organising the whole thing will be Ministry official Danton Thirroul.

Famed Advocate returns to Britain; Picks fight with the Minister Already!

After several years practicing across Europe, famed Wizarding Advocate and legalist, Sigmar Biedermann, had returned to Britain after several years away. Biedermann who earned much hatred after successfully defending several former Death Eaters during Wizengamot trials (including the amnesty to the Malfoy’s) has occasionally be called ‘You know who’s lawyer’- a name he does not much like.

“It’s a petty insult said by Ministry officials who hate what I do,” he quipped when asked by one of pour reporters about it.
“I prevent the Ministry from every making the same mistakes again. I prevent them from becoming monsters like Umbridge”

The wily old legal fox seems to have his eyes focused on one department (as always) the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
“For the past twenty years Magical Law Enforcement has been on a war footing- the Aurors especially, who do a fine job, often over step the mark- they take on board powers they should not have. But I have heard that the current Department Head, Deadlow, is a VERY level headed chap. I am sure there will be no issues.”

But already he has issues with our Minister of Magic- “Kingsley’s a war hero and a great man- but being IN the war like he was has made him lose objectivity. He wants to publish the Death Eater files- there is no good that could come from that. All he will do is open up wounds that have only just healed.”

The Captains Broom Line Up Announced

The Department of Magical Games and sports have confirm the full line up of events:

The Temple Bar Grand Relay: In teams of THREE (all teams must be registered before the event), set up in a relay- first team to complete the course wins.

The Duchess of Waterfords Liffey Bridge Challenge: One of the most difficult races in the Wizarding world- over and under the Liffey’s elegant bridges both up and down the Liffey- this race is not for the novice.

The Captains Grand Dublin Sweep: The most difficult race in the Wizarding World- contestants have to fly around Dublin at high speed, calling in at certain check points and doing specific tasks, all the while avoiding drowning, smashing into walls and killing Muggles!

Muggles Report Terrible Screams Heard in ‘Britain’s Most Haunted House’

Britain’s most haunted house, 50 Berkeley Square, London, was the scene of a great disturbance yesterday, when Muggles reported hearing screams emitting from up to 100 yards away.

Of course the house is the location for ‘The Other Club’ the haunt in Britain- as yet no one from the Ministry was able to comment on what could have disturbed the ghosts and the prophet’s own ghostly reporter, Angus Fella, is away on leave! We hope for some light to be shed on the situation soon.

Foreign News; Revolt in Romania Continues

The fighting in Romania, now into its second week, seems to continue without any hint of abatement.

The Revolt against the Ministry of Romania, but a group of Wizards calling themselves the ‘Liberation of Transylvania’, has been raging across the Carpathian mountains now for 14 days. Unconfirmed reports have claimed that the LT forces have started using dragons against their foes.

The Department of International Co-Operation has issued a warning to all British Wizards to avoid the area; Ministry Spokesman Danton Thirroul said- “The Minister is very concerned about the events in Romania and is looking to help the Romanians any way he can;’ in the meantime it is just a jolly sensible thing to do, to avoid going to the area yes?”

Hero Auror Saves the Day!

A member of the Irish Regulators- transferred over to the main ministry at short notice, has literally saved the day recently as a small but dedicated cabal of Dark Wizards terrorised the innocent children in Hogwarts.

Details are still vague, but it appears the cabal, called ‘The Legion of Doom’ by some, began a series of systematic attacks upon the children in and around the school.

“It was very scary,” said one student, while another said “Actually it was really boring- at the first sign of trouble, they locked us in our common rooms. We could have helped.”

Indeed they could have- entirely ignoring the precedent established in previous years of allowing older students to protect the famous school, the Headmaster ordered all students to skulk and hide away in fear. Thus allowing the Dark Wizards run amok, the staff entirely unable to deal with them.

Finally someone contacted the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and while busy, an Irish Auror, Delilah Weary, port keyed across and successfully dealt with all four Dark Wizards in quick order.

The official in charge of the Irish Ministry, Danton Thirroul said, “I am delighted that Delilah was able to save the day- she is an exceptionally brave and smart lassie, and one of whom we are very proud. I have heard she wishes to transfer to the main ministry and I for one will be supporting that. Its not every day an Auror is willing to risk her life for the children at Hogwarts. It just goes to show the effectiveness of the Ministry.”

The Captains Sweep to Return

It has been confirmed that Captain Donald’s Broom Sweep, the most feared broom race in the Wizarding World, is to be held again, despite some complaints.

Agatha Shalby, 28, from Little Sodborough, said “I think it breaks just about every law we have- the idea of a bunch of mad cap Wizards flying around a Muggle City like that sickens me.”

The Broom Sweep is an irregular event, held in Dublin, and involves wizards flying on brooms over a complicated and dangerous route, that involves interaction with Muggles, and a very great possibility of death.

Noted Wizarding historian Fergus O’Rafferty told the Prophet, “The Sweep began in 1749 when one Muggle born Wizard, Captain Donald O’Brian, challenged a Welsh Witch called Megan to a wild race over the roofs of Trinity College. It grew from there, until the spectacular Sweep of 1848 wherein 19 Wizards drowned in the river Liffey. There have been many worries about the revealing of Wizards to Muggles, but the Ministry of Magic has always managed to clean it up”

“The Sweep usually offers some great prize and while no one knows who sponsors it these days, the winner of the Sweep is usually very rewarded. Of course there is traditionally a whole series of races that match the sweep”

The Department of Magical games and Sports can confirm that the line up for the upcoming Sweep’s include- The Grand Dublin Sweep, and the Duchess of Waterfords Liffey Bridge Challenge but that more events will be announced soon.

Death Eater Files WILL become public knowledge

Minister Shaklebolt has confirmed that before the 10th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, that the Ministry of Magic WILL reveal all files on the Death Eaters and their numbers.

Until recently information has been kept under lock and key- but it seems as if the Minister is going for total disclosure.

Headmaster “Not insane at all”

Several faculty members from Hogwarts have approached the prophet to confirm that they hold NO truth in the rumours that the newly appointed Headmaster is ‘insane’.

“The Headmaster is a very great man,” said one professor who wished not to give their name, “And he is under a lot of stress. But I believe all his decisions are the correct ones.”

Another professor was more forthright in her views- “Those who say the Headmaster is insane are wrong. I for one intend to stand by him during this time of need.”

It has been confirmed that no one in the Ministry has ask the healers of St. Mungo’s to intervene.

Zurich to be new headquarters’ of ICW

The International Confederation of Wizards have confirmed that they will be relocating their headquarters to Zurich in Switzerland. This follows months of speculation about the move.

When asked why it took so long to decide, spokesman for the ICW, Hannes Morteson, said, “We were looking for the Supreme Mugwhump. He was busy.”

Morteson refused to confirm rumours that the Supreme Mugwhump was resigning and that they would soon have to choose a new holder of the position.

Fines for Cake Baker

The Northampton Witches Annual Bake Off ended in chaos last week, when it was revealed that six times champion, Nora Huddlestone, had been using a series of banned charms on her Artic Rolls!

“I just thought they tasted lovely” said competition judge Eileen Thatcher, “until I decided to say that I though Lorna Carrigs cakes tasted almost as good.” Sources can reveal that Ms. Thatcher was then hit by a nasty ‘Galloping Trots’ Hex.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Misuse of Muggle Artefacts has confirmed that Nora Huddlestone was using a ‘Like it or else charm’- “ nasty wee spell, banned in the 1950’s- to be honest we hadn’t seen one of these in years. She had placed it upon the sugar condiment- so every time she added sugar to any recipe the spell was cast. It was very subtle.”

As well as a serious fine, Ms. Huddlestone has been banned from then Northampton Witches Society for six weeks.

Concerns About Safety

London, England Dec 7-The Ministry of Magic has been inundated with Owls questioning the safety and security at Hogwarts School of Wizards and Witchcraft from concerned parents.

Mrs. Melina Karvas wrote, "Hogwarts has always been the safest place for our children to be. Even when there were threats from both inside and outside of the castle, I wasn't worried for our young people. I know they were alright. After what my daughter is telling me now I'm no longer so sure..."

Mr. Tobias Raindorff sent, "After I received me son's owl about the bleedin' [sorting] hat's disappearing and him seein' Centaurs roamin' the Castle, I'm thinkin' of callin' him home. I could give him a righter safer education here with me."

When asked, a Ministry spokes person stated, "That while there was an incident at start of term, we are sure that was a one time happenstance, and that all the students are still in very capable hands."

Here are the Daily Prophet believe, as the Ministry states, that these views of concerned parents are unfairly grounded. There is no mortal peril for any of these young, impressionable students, and the powers to be in the administrations of Hogwarts have all well in hand.

Hogwarts Students and Ministry staff save the day!

It has recently emerged that the Sorting Hat of Hogwarts, prized relic of Hogwarts School, was dramatically stolen from under the very noses of the whole school during a tremendously exciting Sorting ceremony.

After its usual sing song, it added a few more words about something called 'The Eye of the Hippogriff' before disappearing into thin air. Needless to say there was a huge degree of fuss and alarm.

After an extensive search of the castle itself and its grounds, no trace of the Hat could be found. By this stage brave volunteers from the Ministry had arrived to aid the new Headmaster, Kitsume, a decent chap by all accounts.

A group of brave and intrepid students braved the Forbidden Forest and while they never found the actual Hat itself, emerged muddy, breathlessly and grinning."That was FUN!" said one, while at least one other used the chance to race around the forest (excellent spot for Quidditch practice).

Junior Undersecutary to the Minister of Magic, Mr. Danton Thirroul (32, single, heir to the Thirroul fortunes) said, "A wonderful example of the bravery and ingenuity of the students of Hogwarts. Some 'modern' Wizards turn into a bunch of old grannies about the students, worrying that they could hurt themselves playing in the trees Stuff and nonsense! Generations of students have survived those woods. Never left any of us, whats that silly little Muggle word they sue- 'traumatized'".

Later, the Prophet can exclusively reveal that it was indeed a student who found Sorting Hat somewhere in Hogsmeade- a young first year of all things- only a few hours after her sorting! The young girl, who is said to have only just arrived in Britain, is said to be a Ravenclaw of all things. speaking exclusively she is reported to have said, "I am very happy to have been allowed to help my new friends like this."

Sources within the Ministry have confirmed that the "Eye of the Hippogriff" was a relic that was until recently located in the department of mysteries. Artemis Huntington, Head of the Department, has offered her resignation over the whole matter, and the Minister has sadly accepted the offer.
